As the summer sun begins to set, the warehouse floor at Perseuss is still buzzing—with ideas, innovation, and impact.

Over the last eight weeks, we had the honor of hosting a group of brilliant high school interns who rolled up their sleeves and tackled real-world logistics problems. The result? A Demo Day filled with hands-on solutions in pallet optimization, cold chain logistics, and smart cartonization software.

This wasn't your average internship.

No sandbox projects.

No mock assignments.

Just real problems and real innovation.

Team USA: Redefining Pallet Optimization

First up was Team USA, featuring Anika Kumar and Aarav Srivastava. They took on the challenge of pallet optimization with one clear goal in mind—reduce the height of each pallet to save on shipping costs.

They built an API that lets shippers create smarter pallet configurations based on box size and weight. Their algorithm recalculates in real time, adjusting to each shipment’s needs. It was more than impressive. It was the kind of solution you could actually use on the warehouse floor today.

Even Dustin Brearton, one of our guest attendees and a warehouse veteran (Owner of On-Demand Warehousing and Fulfillment) with over two decades of experience, was impressed.

“These interns weren’t just playing with theory; they built real tools for real problems. The pallet optimization project in particular is something I could see being used immediately. This program is exactly what the next generation of supply chain innovators needs.”

Next, we heard from Asya Ocak and Kirill Nekryukov of Team Europe. Their project focused on packing frozen items alongside gel packs in a way that keeps everything cold without wasting space or materials.

They created a two-step logic. First, it packs the pizzas. Then, it calculates the optimal placement and number of gel packs. The system balances temperature control with cost-efficiency. This project proved that even cold chain logistics can benefit from smart cartonization and thoughtful design.

Team India: Container Cartonization with Safety in Mind

Rhea Manyala and Bhavika Khanna from Team India tackled one of the most complex problems—how to pack ocean containers without creating a tipping hazard during transport.

They focused on weight distribution and the center of mass, even incorporating physics-based rotation logic to improve balance inside containers. The result was a system that reduces the risk of tipping and maximizes usable space. For anyone dealing with global shipping, this one hit home.

Team Africa: Marketing That Converts

Aswath Kishore brought a creative edge to Demo Day with his focus on marketing and brand storytelling. Representing Team Africa, he explored how content can be just as impactful as code.

His internship focused on building our social media strategy—from short-form video content to branded visuals that helped communicate what Perseuss does and why it matters. Using tools like Canva and Adobe Premiere Pro, Aswath created engaging pieces that turned our technical projects into stories people actually want to watch and share.

Because no matter how smart your cartonization engine is, it still needs a voice.

What We Took Away

This internship wasn’t about theory. It was about building things that actually work.

  • Our interns solved real packaging and pallet optimization problems.

  • They used real data and tested their ideas with real scenarios.

  • They learned to collaborate, take feedback, and ship working prototypes.

These students didn’t just explore supply chain technology. They helped improve it.

Looking Ahead

We’re already excited for the next cohort. If you're a student curious about warehouse automation, or a school interested in partnering with us, we’d love to hear from you.

To our interns, thank you. Your energy, dedication, and creativity made this summer one to remember.

To our readers, if you're exploring smarter ways to pack, palletize, and ship, we’d be happy to show you how Perseuss can help.

Let’s keep building better logistics, together.
